BSP Tonga Country Head, Mrs. Faasu Atkinson announced a Net Profit after Tax of T$15.2 million for FY2025, reflecting a 30.6% increase from FY2024, mainly attributed to lending growth, stable net debt levels, and strong foreign exchange earnings.

Mrs. Atkinson stated that BSP Tonga remains stable, well capitalised with strong liquidity to support the customers in the Kingdom.

“We are delighted to be the bank of choice for over 49,000 customers in Tonga, served by our teams in Tongatapu, Vava’u, Ha’apai and ‘Eua. Our continued delivery on Tonga’s digital footprint in Tonga is the most extensive of any bank, featuring over 350 new EFTPOS devices, 15 ATMs, 25 active agents in the rural areas, and 14 MoneyGram agencies available outside normal banking hours. These services have enabled us to maintain our number one market share in both deposits and lending.

“BSP Tonga’s active engagement in the community is central to our social responsibility. For example, our with partnership with Australian Business Volunteers (ABV) is providing training and coaching to the SME’s clients. As part of our community outreach initiatives, we are also supporting the refurbishment of classrooms at Tupou High School at Nukunuku. We have also made donations to various community projects and supported clean up in the community days throughout the year.”

The BSP Tonga’s profit announcement follows the release of the BSP Financial Group’s Full Year results by Group CEO, Mark Robinson noting a statutory Net Profit After Tax result of K1.17 billion [AUD$440 million].
